TEHRAN — Iran defeated China 2-0 on Friday to come third in the Oman Four Nations Football Tournament 2008.

In a match held in Muscat’s Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Seyyed Mehdi Seyyed Salehi put Iran ahead in the 45th minute from the penalty spot after Gholamreza Rezaei was brought down by the Chinese keeper in the penalty box.
Iran’s Pejman Noori got himself on the score sheet sending the ball toward the far post in the 72th minute from the six yard zone.
Iran was beaten 1-0 by Ecuador in its opener on Wednesday while Oman defeated China 3-1.
